Day climbing Meet Sat 19th Sept - Stanage Popular End.

Postby JR » Tue Sep 15, 2020 11:37 am

Since Hayley's subjecting you lovely people to some limestone next week, and you've had a Dales trip the s/w just gone, I'm going to suggest Peak grit, of some description, for this coming Saturday.

I puzzling over where to go, unfortunately.

Stanage is a big place, so the fact that there's a meet there later this year, shouldn't preclude that as an option.
Dovestone in the Chew valley has been mooted (courtesy of Helen B), but that has a big walk in, and we'd need to get there early due to the popularity of the parking.
So... what do people want to do?

1: James R
2: Lindsay M
3: Helen B
4: Sarah S
5: Kirsty L
6: Martin W

We are quorate!

Anyone want to do a 2nd 6 if there's more takers?

I would like to climb things...

Suggestions: Stanage (it's massive, multiple trips shouldn't be a problem), Burbage, Lawrencefield maybe?

I'm thinking of the 'unpopular end of the popular end' if that makes any sense, unless there are any objections?

I'm hoping to get here fairly early, probably park near Apparent North and head along the top.

We might get early low cloud, but we should have most of the day from mid-morning/lunchtime fine and sunny.
