Setting up a regular climbing group

Postby Tom_J » Sun Apr 07, 2019 6:02 pm

Hi All,

This year I am keen to get out climbing more regularly, something which, for one reason or another, I haven’t done so well at over the last couple of years.

It would be great to link up with other members in the club that have similar aspirations; mid-grade climbers keen to get out regularly to the Peak, Yorkshire, or further afield when the forecast looks good, mostly for trad.

In the past I have done this using the bulletin board, but as Harold Wilson almost said - E points are going to be forged in the white heat of the technological revolution.

With this in mind I am finally embracing WhatsApp, and I am trying to set up a WhatsApp group, as a complement to posting on the bulletin board, to link up with others in the club who are interested in getting out regularly.

Hopefully the group would work as follows: when the forecast is good for the weekend ask the group if anyone else is interested in getting out, arrange a trip, then post up plans on bulletin board for others to join if they wish. It would be a bit more immediate than the bulletin board for early stage planning.

Anyone interested in joining the group? Let me know below or by PM and I will get you added.

Hopefully,

Tom

Hi Tom
I've just rejoined the club after an extended hiatus and looking for folk to climb trad with in the evenings mainly - will PM you my mobile for the whatsapp group.
Climbing up to E2 on a good day, currently scraping my way up HVS's.
