Hi Helen

Yes that will be fine. I am travelling there on the Monday or Tuesday depending on weather. As I said I am hoping to climb before and after the weekend, so am happy to do some easier grade climbing on or around the weekend itself.

If anyone else is thinking of coming on the Meet, post up soon as I will book the meal this week. There are already a lot of people so I am not sure how happy they will be to add more nearer the time.

Cheers

Or I can give someone a lift down on Friday night and someone else a lift home on Monday night?

Without wanting to tempt fate, the MetOffice long range weather forecast is looking hopeful for Pembroke:

'Monday 19 Aug - Wednesday 28 Aug
Monday will be a cool day with a mix of sunshine and showers, the showers heaviest and most frequent in the north and northwest where thunderstorms are likely. It will also be windy at first, with some coastal gales. Through Tuesday and Wednesday there will be a trend for the weather to become less unsettled in the south and southwest, with increasingly dry conditions developing here. Further rain and strong winds are expected to affect the north though, and some chilly nights are possible. During the remainder of the period there are signals for pressure to build to the west or southwest of the British Isles bringing increasingly settled and warmer conditions, especially to southern areas. However, further wet and windy spells are still possible in the north.'

Fingers crossed...

*ahem* isn't the forecasting *my* job????? ;-)

Btw - I've got the meets book so somehow it's got to make it's way to John.

But yes, you appear to be ducking this run of very poor weather!

Reading through the past posts, it seems most people are extending their break each side of the weekend.
I was going to visit my parents before heading over to Pembroke. It seems, they have other plans

So, I have taken Friday off and intend setting off in the morning about 8 or 9. Returning Monday morning (I need to get back to spend time with the cat and Cath)
If that fits into anyones plan, let me know. Be advised, I am sticking to those times . . . .

Thanks Steve,

I'm no expert at this, but does it mean low tide will be first thing in the morning then in the evening?

The tide times aren't great but it is a Neap tide over the weekend, so high tide isn't that high. All the high tide belay points will be well above the water.
On Saturday and Sunday the tide is going out in the afternoon which makes it a lot less likely that you would get wet feet because obviously, the water level will be dropping as opposed to rising.
Loads of the climbs are none tidal anyway.
The weather forecast looks dry right through the weekend.
I am going tomorrow, I will try to occupy the back left hand corner of the field.
Otherwise just lookout for my van.
See you all there.

Cheers
