Alex Mac hut meet Scotland 6-7 March.

Roll up, roll up.....
Booking opens on Thursday for the magnificent Alex MAC meet. A highlight of anyone’s Scottish calendar.

It’s magnificently placed in North Ballachulish on the A82, one mile north of the Ballachulish bridge, ~ 50 m past the entrance to Creag Mhor Lodge. Grid reference NN044611 on OS sheet no. 41, Ben Nevis. Postcode (sat nav) PH33 6RY.

Well positioned for walkers and climbers wishing to access Ben Nevis, Glen Nevis, Glen Coe. Even the Kevin Keegan (aka Aonach Eagach) ridge is only a spit away as is plentiful skiing. And of course , I am assured that the skiing conditions will be such that all the lifts will be open at the 2 local ski resorts! Quite frankly, everything to play for.

We have 16 beds at our disposal in 5 rooms. Upstairs: 2 with 3 beds, and 2 with Alpine style sleeping platforms. Downstairs: small room presently with 1 bed. Mattresses are provided, but no pillows or blankets. There is also a well equipped kitchen.
As the hut belongs jointly to Mountaineering Scotland and the BMC, there are other fine facilities....yes, hot and cold running water, two showers and toilets, drying room, and electric storage heaters!

In addition, the famous Clachaig Inn, almost on the doorstep, where, on the 7th March, the band Box o Bananas are playing (an upbeat Celidah)! Goodness, (I know!)

...£20 please, to Leeds Mountaineering Club. My address to send your cheque is in the private section. (Also potential to extend nights if req)
So, who’s in?

1. Sara Hayes
2. Simon Guilfolyle
3.Les Holbert
4.Paul Hudson
5.Peter Ainsworth
6.Suzanne Fielding
7.Cath Sanders
8.Ruth Jowett
9. Paul Spinks
10.Paulina Melichova

12.Luke Jones
13. Andy May

15. James Rowe
16.Claire Trenaman

Reserve: Mr Steve Mead

Well that filled up nice and quickly, eh? Good work!

Glad to see I've got a place.

Weather and conditions permitting, I'm hoping to do some winter walking/mountaineering and/or skiing.

Fingers crossed for some more snow and some decent weather!

Now then, music lovers.
As the dutiful meet leader,I want the week end to go as smooth as a box of frogs.
My intention is to book transport from the Clachaig Pub back to the Alex Mac hut on the Saturday night. This will be so that we can see a band and have a few tipples without having to drive back.

So, if you want to go out to the Clachaig on Sat night and want a lift back, can yoU indicate below. Alternatively, if you are happy to drive and offer lifts back, please post up too.
I will be booking transport next Monday, either just a taxi or, a mini bus depending on those interested. No name, no lift.

So far,
Me
Peter
Andy M

Thanks
Sara

Now, when you say one taxi, you actually mean the 3 we went through last time we did something like this! ;-)
