Structural engineer in Leeds

Postby joeytalbot » Wed Mar 18, 2020 1:16 pm

Hi,

This is a bit of a long shot, but can anyone on here recommend a good Structural Engineer in Leeds?

I'm halfway through trying to buy a house, and we need a structural survey because we have found some potentially serious issues with the property. So I'm looking for someone who can properly check it out and give us detailed costings and a breakdown of what work will be needed to fix the problems.

Great timing I know, but life goes on eh!

We used someone, based I think in Bingley, a few years ago.
I'll see if I can dig out some details. Don't hold your breath, as the email trail might be long dead.

Sarah Sharps recently had one for her loft conversion: http://www.marshdesign.co.uk/contacts.html (based in Huddersfield though, not Leeds)

This is the surveyor who did the survey on my house in Otley in August. Dont know if they are also structural engineers.

Thanks for the info John!

Who knows whether they'll be allowed to access the house. I guess there's a chance at least...

Then there's the slight inconvenience that my friend who I'm buying the house with may be about to lose her job. We'll find out sometime this week. Oh the joys!

Success!
We managed to get the survey done on Monday.
Luckily the house is empty at the moment.
Now to find a solicitor...

For that I can only recommend who to not go with... :D the guy that bought my last house had a decent one I think, could text him and ask him if he recommended them and their details?
