Park run -Sat 10th October, 9.00am

Postby Ainsworp » Mon Oct 05, 2020 3:27 am

Hi

As part of my regime to get race fit, I’m going to start doing the park run again. Obviously due to local Covid restrictions there are no official park run events taking place, however if I understand the current (not complicated) arrangements - up to 6 people can meet outdoors.

So, I will be running the Temple Newsam park run course at 9.00am on Saturday.

For those who don’t know this one, it is a tough one, 5k of hills, with only one flat section. Anybody who wants a challenge, please reply below.

Meeting point will be in front of the house/ farm near the benches.

How did it go? I was in Harrogate for a run with a friend and it was lovely weather.

It was chilly but nice once we got going. In the spirit of "no LMCer left behind" Rob and Peter trotted along at my pace chatting and generally soaking up the wonderful scenery of Temple Newsam, while I wheezed, shuffled and generally tried not to die. We aimed to run the whole course with no walk breaks and achieved our aim in 30:57. A little off my 5km PB of 28:37 but I'll blame the massive hill for that :D
