Re: New recruit
Hi Dan, Welcome. There are a few of us with links to the club based in Otley. There are a diversity of interests and good knowledge of how to make the most of the local area (until trips further afield are back on the cards!). Feel free to contact me via private message if you have any questions. Tom

Re: 2020 - That was the year that was...
This is a nice idea, Martin. It will be fun to hear what some of the other members have got done. 1. Slipstones. Epitomises the best of the year for me: An empty crag, blue skies and rock that sticks like velcro. Bouldering and solos, coffee brewed using a filter fashioned from a face mask, bad joke...

Re: Climbing in the Peak
Absolutely loving this Tom. Any word on a publishing date? You're in luck! Somewhere in the thread it mentions November this year; title "Shallow Ground". That's Christmas sorted, and a shoo-in for the next Boardman Tasker. Jen and me had an afternoon at Windgather the other year. The sim...

Climbing in the Peak
For those of you looking out of the window and lamenting you're not out on the gritstone, this UKC thread starts with a description of a fantastic (imagined!) day climbing at Windgather: https://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/rock_talk/non-climbing_author_needs_your_expert_advice-717507 A choice quote: &...

A great meet! Thanks for leading Will, and for driving.
Feels like we packed loads in! Sitting here at my desk this morning I am definitely jiggered out.

Re: First Scottish Meet! 10th 11th January, Kincraig
Just back from New Year out on the west coast. Super mild conditions and very little snow out that way. This is up in Torridon on Tuesday https://i.ibb.co/9t4QL0P/IMG-1500.jpg On the A9 through Aviemore theres very little sign of snow, so unsure on what its like further into the Cairngorms 50/50 ab...

I've got Friday off work, so would be up for travelling on Thursday evening if conditions look good (or even if they just look OK!) -could I put my name down for an extra night in the hut?
I'll be travelling from Otley, probably ready to go around 5:30pm.

Re: New Hut Meet Booking System Proposal for AGM Vote
I concur with Ian, if we are going to adopt an alternative approach, we should commit to it fully. A half-way house, where people can still use the current system if they wish, has the potential to create extra work for the meet leader and extra scope for getting things wrong, when the intention sho...
