Almscliff Thursday 8th July

Post by DavidPonting »

This is the weather-postponed Almscliff meet from Tuesday 6th...
Hard to believe it, but yes its July, July I tell you, that means you have had plenty of practice of jammin, balancing on those slabs and parking (see below)

Thursday 8th July
is our return to the mighty 'cliff. Yes, that's right, Almscliff will once again be graced by the LMC this week. New members welcome to come along, bound to be a small crowd by low man and if your lucky a post-climb visit to the Hunters Inn for those so inclined.

Bonus points for each item of club merchandise worn (double points for Beenies)

Crag details here: https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/almscliff-373
I'll be there about 5:30, others bound to arrive earlier and later.

Names:
1. David P
2. Sally
3. Steve
4. David S
5. Brian S
6. Patricia
7. Andy
8. Graham M
9. Dixy
10. Leah
11. Hannah
12. Luke S
...
30.

Usual Almscliff rules apply:
Don't you even think about walking on that dry stone wall! NO!
No drones, no lamping
Don't park like a d*ck - if a tractor can't pass your car, you need to move it.
These rules are important - Almscliff is on private land and the farmer could ban climbing if we annoy him. Let's not annoy him.

COVID guidance:
This meet is open to up to 30 participants in line with government guidance (effective 17th May 2021)
You must not attend if you feel unwell, and if COVID-19 symptoms develop during the meet you must leave immediately and ensure a leader is informed.
You must not attend if you are shielding or a member of your household has COVID19 symptoms

Be aware of the risks of shared hardware (e.g. quickdraws) and sanitise your hands as required
Avoid putting the rope in your mouth when clipping
You should not share food and drink with other participants
Please consider the current government guidance on travel
During the meet please be considerate to other visitors to the area

I'm not able to make it but just to note that people generally stay until the light starts to go (no lamping allowed at Almscliff) and many people don't arrive until 6 or later so that really isn't a problem at all.
