As Paul has said after out meeting , the articles for the 1990's are sufficient, but don't forget that not all the chapters will be of a similar size, we still need articles from the 1980's and 2000 onwards if members still want to contribute, they can be funny articles, meet reports or just about anything to do with climbing/walking.
When I can this coming week I will put on her all the articles from each section so members will have an idea of what has been collected so far.

Thanks for the update Ken. Looks like the 90s was a prolific decade for writing! Is there much to be added for the 2000s? I only ask about that because that's the only period I know and there isn't much listed at all compared to the 90s. Although sometimes articles have to be dragged out kicking and screaming, there has been quite a lot of good stuff written...

For 2000 onwards I thought this was a nice piece from Tom: https://leedsmc.org/the_meet_that_never_was
And 'Type's of fun' article: https://leedsmc.org/assets/docs/newslett ... er2013.pdf

Not sure if we can edit down the piece about the large Dolomites trip in 2012 as well: https://leedsmc.org/assets/docs/newslett ... mn2012.pdf certainly got some good photos from the trip.

Hi Holly

If you can uncover some articles then that would be great, as usual just need title, author, dates.

There will soon be a job for some people of either typing up some articles into a text format
or for non-typists like me….
the same can be achieved by using online OCR e.g.[<https://www.newocr.com>] you upload a scan then check the output against the original, correcting any mistakes.

As soon as Ken lets me have the scans I will post them where they can be downloaded and dealt with by any volunteers.

Thanks

Hi Ken

Maybe have a look back and see which articles have been nominated for or awarded 'Newsletter Article of the Year' in the annual awards over the last few years. That should give a quick list of quality articles. :)

Hi Ken,

I don't have copies of the newsletters I'm afraid, so don't know exact issues etc. I have an article I wrote on a trip to France that culminated in me and Dave climbing the Aguille Dibona - it's not too long and I can send you that if you like. I'm not sure which newsletter it appeared in. Cath's idea of looking for the newsletter article winners (and nominees too?) is a good one. I remember Vicky's 'types of fun' being a good read - see Marq's link - and also John McMahon's Pembroke meet report was a scream. No idea what year it was, but I think it won an award at the relevant annual dinner, if that helps?

Ta,

Holly

Hi Holly

The French article would be good , if you have any others then please send them through to me or PH. I cannot remember all the newsletter winners so I may need some guidance on that.

Ken, I've just tried to send the article to Paul, but not sure it went through. Do you have an email address I can send it to?

Ken - I've written a few over the last few years. Happy for you to use any of mine, perhaps the one in the Summer 2013 newsletter might be a good one to use or the one in Autumn 2012.

Dave, to save time, could you possible send me any articles you think should be included, its just that at this moment in time ,I am racing against the clock, in terms of organising all the articles, printing costs, liaising with older members and collecting more old photos and converting all the articles to pen stick and looking a ll the retyping to be done.
