Walking Meet - Saturday 8th / Sunday 9th January 2022

Post by Alice »

Hello
John has asked me to look after this weekend's walk. I've just been looking at the weather forecast for Saturday and it looks VERY rainy.

We have a few options...

1 - John's original Stanage route (or something similar) on Sunday 9th January.
2 - A walk closer to Leeds (around the Bolton Abbey area) on Sunday 9th January.
3 - Cancel this weekend's walk and look forward to hitting the fells again in February. I think Ingleborough is on the cards.

Any takers / thoughts / ideas most welcome. Looking forward to a day out (fingers crossed)!

Thanks,
Alice

Hey, Dovestone sounds lovely - haven't been up that way for ages.

So, the plan for Sunday (Bolton Abbey area) is...

Meet at 10am at Black Hill lay-by Car Parking on Barden Road -> https://goo.gl/maps/8PdxSTCi9oUSrkMVA

We'll walk over to Bolton Abbey, up the river to Barden Bridge and across Barden Moor towards the reservoirs. Should be an enjoyable loop of between 10 and 12 miles depending on how we're feeling.

Stop for coffee at the Bolton Abbey coffee shop (approx half way) and option of the pub at Embsay afterwards.

If you have covid symptoms please do a test, and stay home if required.

Let me know if you'd like to join!

Hi JR- Great you can join the walk.
A lift would be great, thank you. Luke is coming too - he's dropped you a text with our address.
See you shortly (hope you get this!)

FYI ignore the road closed signs at Embsay, if coming that way!
