Paul Spinks has kindly offered to lead a walk from Scar House Reservoir in Nidderdale on Sunday 10th April. It'll be a slightly shorter one this time - around 6 to 10 miles.
Parking instructions and a bit more information about the route to follow. Paul will post up about these soon. Essentially, this is a "save the date"!
Please let us know if you'd like to join! Hope to see you there
The walk will start from Scar House Reservoir at 10:00 and do a circuit of Upper Nidderdale. We will head towards Masham Moor on the Nidderdale Way, follow Dale Edge until descending to Thrope Farm. From there we follow the Nidderdale Way to Lofthouse and then onto Middlesmoor, where there is a pub, before walking back along Moor Lane to the cars. I estimate that this should be about 8 miles
Scar House has a free car park, which is near the end of the reservoir dam and does not have a height barrier. To get there, follow Yorkshire Water's private tarmac access road, which turns off to the right about 100 metres after Lofthouse village when driving towards Middlesmoor. Post Code for Sat Nav is HG3 5SW. Grid Ref 070765
I'll be travelling from North Leeds if anyone wants to share transport
Sadly I'm not going to make it - my satnav took me entirely the wrong way so I'm not gonna be at the car park for another hour (just went half an hour down a very small road and then tried to take me down one that's not suitable for motor vehicles). Might see you all there later because I'll still have a wander around the reservoir.
