Another date for your diary:

Monday 21 October is the date of the next LMC slide show. It will take place in Bridget's room at the Victoria Hotel on Great George Street (where we hold the AGM).

So far we have 2 talks confirmed:

Sara H and Andy on their recent Dolomites trip and David Ponting will tell us about his Scandanavian adventures. Further information about the talks will follow shortly.

To whet your appetites for the forthcoming slide night here are abstracts from David:
"Many of you know that I spent two years as a post-doc in Gothenburg - what you perhaps don't know is how I spent my weekends while I was there... The answer is that there's a long-distance trail, the Bohusleden, which I did in stages. Out and back each nice weekend by public transport, working my way up the coast, sleeping on beaches, in forests and by lakes, through winter and summer, up to the Norwegian border. I took my camera with me all the way, so this talk will be a selection of the best moments of that wandering walk, with some deviations to other sights on the way, and a smattering of history, culture and maybe even fika to boot!"
and Sara & Andy:
You have had big mountain adventure talks, presentations on the hardships associated with adventuring in inhospitable climes, tales of daring do in inaccessible places, rock climbs with daredevil consequences, and now we would like to present a humble account and Sara, Andy, Steve and Paul’s holiday snaps of their Italian odyssey: The Bocchette Way. A spectacular hut to hut via ferrata limestone journey across the Brenta Dolomites.

I’ll be there too, and I think quite a few have said yes, but not posted up. I think we’ll have a good turn out!
Looking forward to seeing you there...
Ciao

Hi Paul

Yes I put 7.00pm as a start time, but today realised that I have only booked the room from 7.00pm. Hopefully there won't be anyone in before us so we can set up the projector and screen - otherwise we will be starting a bit later.

Thanks to David, Martin & Sara for your great presentations this evening and thanks to everyone who attended. I hope you all enjoyed the evening as much as I did.

We will hold another slide night in the New Year and will be looking for more volunteers.

Thank you

Helen
