Skye first week of June

Post by Andy_G »

Report: it was hot and dry and midge free. We stayed in a cottage. We did some cycling. We watched some remarkable sunsets. We walked on the beach, and nosed at the neighbours' houses. We climbed a couple of ridges on some big pointy mountain range up there and hiked along another equally fabulous one. We gawped at mountain and coastal vistas. We mountain biked in a long valley. We drank some beer, sought out Scottish cheeses; ate excellent caramelised onion gravy, the odd lamb shank and some frankly disappointing fish and chips. We went in a fast boat to a fabulous hidden loch; took bikes on to a ferry to an island and the mighty hills of Dave were conquered. By Dave. As it should be.
All in all it was rather fabulous - and here's the pictures to prove it.

It's been quite the year so far for Skye.

Well done us. 8)
