Shipley Glen Evening Meet - 6th April

Post by Kharrison23 »

Happy Easter!

We had planned for a trad meet at Almscliff, however, despite us celebrating his son's resurrection, the Almighty has not blessed us with a forecast fit for our triumphant return to the altar of Leeds climbing.

The change of venue to Shipley Glen will provide some shelter and plenty of opportunity for all grades of boulderer. If you haven't climbed there before then oh my gosh you are in for a treat (https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crag ... _glen-1343).

We are planning two groups of 6.

Most importantly, great grit conditions guaranteed!!

Post up below if you intent to attend.

Karl,

Dixy had edited his post to say he can't actually attend.

Doesn't look like we'll be full as things stand though.

Cheers,

J-WIS here - we might get a few light showers this afternoon, but that shouldn't be a problem for us.

A few snow flurries today, but I still intend to get the the Glen for around 18:00.

Will probably head for close to the car park, have a wander to find folk/warm up then see where the will takes me.

I'm in :), I've not been before and don't have anyone's contact details. Is it fairly easy to find?

It's fairly easy :)

Parking at https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/53.85 ... m2!4m1!3e0

The parking is right above the "John" area (https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crag ... oved_arete), the way down is obvious once you're stood above it.

I'll hang around there once I arrive, aiming for 5:30pm. I have an obnoxiously large green "Moon" bouldering mat and will be dressed in approximately 12 layers of clothing.
