Lagangarbh 2022/03/18-21

Post by TayRex »

It is time for the hut meet you've all been waiting for... Laganbaganbagan or for those of you who speak Gaelic, Lagangarbh. This lovely hut is located at the base of Buachaille Etive Mor in Glen Coe, an area bursting with wonderful walks and wild winter climbs.

For address and parking info: https://www.smc.org.uk/huts/lagangarbh
Anybody with a high wheeled vehicle will get down the track. All other vehicles should park in the lay by.

For Key code info: see private section of BB

Booking is for the nights 2022/03/18-21 - HUT FULL

Payment: £12pppn x 4 nights = £48 by either:
- CHEQUE addressed to Leeds Mountaineering Club (not LMC).
- BACS: 'promise to pay' note sent to Tayah's address (posted in 'private' section). Once your place is confirmed, you have 7 days to complete BACS transfer. To avoid incurring Andy's wrath, the reference should have this format: {NAME} - {HUT}.
- Bookings for all 4 nights will be prioritised.

14 places:
1. Tayah (BACS)
2. Maddie (BACS)
3. Paul Hudson (BACS)
4. Anna (BACS)
5. Amy (BACS)
6. Penny (BACS)
7. Will S (cheque)

10. Ponting Ponting (cheque)
11. Paul Spinks (cheque)

Keen! Assuming winter finally rears its head: I’d like to get some solid grade I-III winter ridges and gullies in and at least a day’s skiing… happy to drive but I do have a small old car so can only take one passenger.

Sharpen' yer tools!

People are going to be fighting to get on this meet! ;-)

RE: winter - the forecasts are generally in agreement that there will be considerable snow accumulation over the next 10 days at least, mainly in the West of Scotland - so it's a start (finally!)

Yes some snow and icy objectives are a first choice, then some tops. Possibility of an elongated stay using FRCC hut at Kinlochleven or Aviemore.

Happy to be a passenger in someone's car or to take two passengers in mine if I get a place.

Vegetarian.

Yesss.

Wouldn't mind one evening meal in the Clachaig, especially if there's a band on. If you are a crow capable of throwing a stone 15km, then its less than a stone's throw as you would fly. So very convenient.

Will - it turns out that when the crow flies, it carries the stone...

But yeah, Clachaig night out is always a good laugh.

Cooooooooooool. I've made the cut.

On the transport sharing front, Penny and myself are an obvious combo. If I'm taking my skis, I'll have room for one more person.

I'm not able to take my family car for this meet but think I should be able to travel up with Tayah/Amy/Maddy, just wondered if anyone is travelling back on monday that I could jump in with? (train looks stupid price :x )
I thought I was being super organised and booked friday 18th and monday 21st off work not realising this meet was until the tuesday so that's when everyone would be travelling back and I have work on tuesday :(

Maddie and I both have Friday afternoon off and we’re thinking of heading up at lunchtime, but are looking for a third for efficiency (both our cars are relatively small, though, so it would need to be in that person’s car…!)

I'm planning to leave Friday morning so I can get to Glencoe in daylight and miss Friday afternoon traffic congestion around Glasgow
