Chris Guilfoyle

Post by Paul Sp »

I’m sorry to tell you that Chris Guilfoyle died suddenly at home last week.

Chris joined the LMC in 1976 and was a constant presence on the club scene for the next ten years, attending meets in the Alps, Lakes, Scotland & Wales. Chris then took a break from club activities, whilst bringing up her children. Chris then resumed her activities with the LMC in the 2000s once the kids had grown up.

I’ll miss days in the hills with Chris and her lively presence in the hut or pub after a great day in the mountains.

Very sad news. I have very fond early childhood memories of LMC family meets at Dunmail Raise and Ennerdale when we’d go walking with Chris and she’d tell stories about Jammie Duck to me and my sisters out on the fells.
