There’s a car park behind Skipton castle, up the hill a tad. £4.50 for all day

I'm planning to park in Saltaire (free) behind Salt's Mill and catching the 8.40 train, getting into Skipton at 9.09.

Fingers crossed, that'll work!

I'd love a lift please, Peter. I'm on A58 at Scarcroft but can meet you nearer the ring road end if that's easier. Thanks

Hi Jo, I’ll pick you up at the end of your street, near the pub at 8.15. Is Freddie ok in the back. He can go on Buddy’s bed as Buddy is still recovering from his op. Sara, I’ll be at yours at 8.45.

That's perfect. Freddie will be honoured to go on Buddy's bed. Thank you. I'll see you tomorrow.

Hi Peter,

Have you still got a space going? I could meet you in Otley (at Sara's if I am reminded if her address)

Excellent, thanks, see you at 0845. Have found Sara's address from when I gave her a lift previously

Just seen this Tayah, always a pot of coffee on if you find yourself calling earlier!

Peter - the dog has had a very severe bout of diarrhoea during the night (following two previous, highly unusual, incontinent nights) and I think I need to get him checked out. Treatment will require him to be starved for at least 24 - 48 hours so I don't think I can take him on a 10 mile walk today. Very disappointed.

Thanks Alice, another new walk for the club. Town centre start, through the golf course, to climb up to the fell. Another mist shrouded summit that you don’t see until you bump in to it. Thank goodness for OS maps on line. Lovely descent with (wild) tales of Flasby hall - thanks Sara. Finally a long canal section I have always wanted to do, but prob wouldn’t do again. Nice drink in the longest pub ever back in Skipton.

True story - Flasby hall is a large house built in 1843-44 and a grade 2 listed building. In 1848 the Flasby sword, an Iron Age sword and scabbard was discovered in the grounds.

True story - the statue we saw on the way back was Freddie Trueman
