Hi,

Obviously very late to this but I'd be interested in joining a nav course should another be going. It'd be useful to brush up on some skills. Any climbing courses I'd also be particularly interested in too.

There's usually some discounted / subsidised BMC "ready to rock" courses for intro to trad taking bookings around this time in the year. Have a look at the BMC website. https://www.thebmc.co.uk/ ... Hm having had a quick look around, maybe they're not up just yet for this year, but probably will be soon.

For Nav courses, we're still planning to run the one mentioned on the front page as "no date set" - would you be interested in that?

Will be making a separate plan for climbing training courses at some point soon - what sort of things would you be interested in? We can coordinate a variety of things; I've personally much enjoyed the self-rescue skills course I did with Peak just over a year ago, for example

Hey both,

Thanks for the info. Yes very much interested in the self rescue stuff as well as the navigation course mentioned. I've got experience across the board but it just wouldn't hurt to get some more - abbing into sea cliffs etc as an example would be good. And Navigation would really be a refresher course that I'd be looking into - I've done a 5 day skills course at plas y brenin so just solidifying the basics would be nice.

However should more advanced skills courses be of interest I'd also be interested in those too! If there are any winter/alpine courses that could be subsidised through collective bargaining then I'm all onboard!

I’ve just reached out to Peak Mountaineering to enquire about some potential dates for the Basic Nav course.
From previous / recent posts it looks like we already have 7 people interested…
Maddie,
John S,
Georgina,
Alice (me),
Tom Guilfoyle,
Hayley Smith
Paul Spinks
And I know others have showed interest on previous walking meets.

So… is anyone else interested? If so, I can try to arrange 2 course dates and split the group. Will update this post as and when I find out more.

Thanks
Alice

Hi again, before I start a new thread with all the details, I’ve had a potential date for the Navigation Course of 22nd April. Of the people who have shown interest… how many can / would like to make that date? Spread the word!

Thanks!
Alice
