The return of 'slide nights'

Post by DavidPonting »

Something that we as a club used to do pre-pandemic (and actually, virtually during it!) was to book out a room in a pub and a few people would describe a recent adventure they've had over a few drinks and a lot of pretty photos.

I know that a whole variety of different things have been achieved in recent years, from the self-styled 'Old Men of Hoy', to a solo Tour du Mont Blanc, to the run of the Welsh 3000s that won last year's Mountaineer of the Year (though I don't know whether many pictures will have been taken), so there are lots of great stories to tell!

If you'd like to give a talk about an adventure, let me know, and once we've got a few volunteers we'll get something organised. If there's interest, I believe we could also potentially arrange an external speaker on a topic such as climbing injury prevention/recovery.
