3 days in the Lakes, staying at Cockermouth Youth Hostel (£7 a night). The first day I climbed Bowscale Fell, Mungrisdale Common and Bannerdale Crags. The second day it was Ling Fell, Greystones, Broom Fell and Lords Seat, finishing up with Sale Fell. Then on to Grike, Crag Fell, Caw Fell and Lank Rigg.
Most of these are smaller hills in the outlying areas of the Lake District. They are more interesting than they look – they have good views up to the big hills as well as out on to the coastal plain. They are also very quiet – you hardly meet anyone all day.

Re: Collecting Wainwrights - 11 March
Two more today Shipman Knotts, and Kentmere Pike, i was going to go on to Harter Fell, but when I bit into my cheese sandwich on top of Kentmere Pike a filling popped out, so I decided to set off back to avoid missing the chemist! 69 done, 145 to go.
