Tan Y Garth 22nd-23rd March 2019
Posted: Mon Feb 18, 2019 10:31 am
Booking opens for the Tan Y Garth meet on 22nd February. There are 10 places available.
Tan Y Garth is located just outside Capel Curig, within walking distance of the pub at the Tan Y Coed hotel. The location is ideal for walking, climbing and mountain biking - so something for everyone. Note that the entrance to the car parking is quite narrow and there is limited room, so car sharing is encouraged.
Information about the hut can be found here. I will bring some £1 coins for the meter but if anyone else could bring a few to make sure we're not sitting in the dark that would be great.

Directions to hut:
From Betwys y Coed follow the A5 towards Bangor for 4 miles. On reaching the Capel Curig village boundary sign continue past a lay-by and 30 mph sign and then make a hair-pin turn left over the stone bridge (Pont Cyfyng). Follow the minor road past a few cottages and a converted chapel on the right and after about half a mile Tan-y-Garth is on the right, just up the track marked by a public footpath sign.
Since 22nd March is the anniversary of the release of the Beatles' first album, I shall be assigning appropriate nicknames:
1 - Lindsay (in the Sky with Diamonds) McMorran
2 - David "Roll Over Beethoven" Ponting
3 - Claire "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" Trenaman
4 - Luke "Here Comes the Sun" Jones
5 - Lisa "Help!" Billington
6 - Karl "I am the Walrus" Harrison
7 - John "Magical Mystery Tour" Armitage
8 - Andy "Norwegian Wood" May
9 - Steve "While my Guitar Gently Weeps" Kirman
10 - Toby "Hello, Goodbye" Dickinson
I intend to organise a communal meal so let me know if you are interested. Currently open to suggestions for food choices...
