5th - 6th April Thirlmere joint meet

In April we will be running a joint meet with the Gritstone climbing club at one of their huts in the Lake district.

The Smithy is their Thirlmere hut, you can find full hut details and facilities here;

There are 7 places available to LMC members. Get your cheques in to me (address in the private section) as normal to book on the meet.

The 'Grits' are keen to get out climbing and meet some of us so bring your smartest clothes and make a good impression kids.

Ordinarily I'd jump at a meet like this (I think it's a damn fine idea, btw) but I too am otherwise engaged that w/e (a friend's 80th birthday no less!)

Really surprised that there hasn't been more interest!

Dear All,
I have had word from the lovely Gritstone Chair, that from their end, they too have had little interest in what would have been i`m sure, a magnificent event. Therefore, he has suggesting our postponing this meet.
We are discussing with them a joint evening climbing meet and have shared our meets calendar with them.

Apologies to John (who was up for it), and anyone else who was thinking about coming alone but didn`t commit!
