You have had your early spring/summer climbing practice, working up those grades, so now It's time to head south to the sunny crags of Matlock Bath. Its a long way down the M1, but worth it for something different.

Two main options here both Limestone crags.
  • 1. High Tor : A Massive crag - grades HVS, E1+ long multi-pitch routes - Experienced parties only pls

    2. Wildcat Crags : A friendlier option, Generally two pitch routes, VS standard grades, only a few lower grade routes (S - Cats Eye), ( HS - Lynx)
Propose to meet in the main Matlock car park circa 10 am. Its a nice gentle walk to the crags, you'll be blown away by how big High Tor is, and relieved when you get to Wildcat crags. Its a busy tourist town so arriving at lunchtime you wont get a parking space. There a lots of ice cream and fish and chip shops for refreshments.

I'll have some photocopies of the crags topo's if you don't have a guidebook.

Hi Martin, sign me up. Let's hope for a nice weather.

*** Update: I've had my 2nd jab today and so far all is well. Infrared vision is still offline but hoping it will activate shortly. I'm just leaving it there as I know some people were wiped after second dose of AZ, so if it happens to me I may have to bail. However, there is still plenty of time until Sunday.
