First hut meet of the new season - and it's an exciting adventure to Torridon! (ish)
Due to the lack of decent huts in the area we've had to look slightly further afield, so this hut is closer to Ullapool BUT it is on the doorstep of An Teallach... still plenty mountains about!

We are staying in the Badrallach Campsite, Bothy (Croft 9, Badrallach, Dundonnell, Garve IV23 2QP) https://www.badrallach.com/index.html on the 7th and 8th of October. We have sole use of this - see details here https://www.badrallach.com/stay/bothy.html. As it's such a long way you may want to book a few days either side - here are the prices for the site:

Camping Tariff
· Adult £7/night
· Child 2-16 (Under 2's Free) £3/night
· Car/camper/motorbike £3/night
· Tent/campervan £3/night
· Full-length Awning (doorway/porch awnings are free) £3/night
· Electric Hook-up £4/night

We are using our marvellous new hut booking system again, here are the deets - meet is open now! 12 Places available in the hut!

1. Log in to your account at https://www.leedsmc.org/login (not the same password / username as the Bulletin Board!)
2. Click the Membership drop down and select "My Details".
3. On the My Meets card select "Sign Up". Navigate to the meet you wish to sign up for. It will either say "Opens On xx/xx/xx" or "Sign Up".
4. To sign up for an open meet click "Sign Up". This will take you to the sign up page for that meet. You can also navigate to this page from the Meets Calendar (https://www.leedsmc.org/calendar).
5. On the meet page click the "Sign Up!" button. You should then see your name added to the list of Sign ups (pending).
6. Pending attendees are confirmed at the end of each day. If there are more attendees than places then places are assigned randomly on a daily basis, otherwise you will be confirmed automatically the next day.
7. To remove your pending sign up you can click "cancel sign up". You can only cancel as a pending attendee, once you have been confirmed on a meet you can only cancel by contacting the meet leader.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you've not paid your subs, you won't be given the option to sign up. If there is any issue, please get in touch with me. :D Any prospective members must have completed an application form and paid subs.

You will need to pay as soon as you book on to secure your place - via bank transfer - details are in the private section - MAKE SURE you detail your name and what you're paying for on the reference! It's £12 a night so total of £24 please.

I’m super-keen for this! Currently flexible for leave, can probably book it to match whoever I’m lift-sharing with

- edit: so much for super-keenness, a bunch of stuff has come up… trying to sort my life out so I can make it, but unsure as to whether I’ll succeed…

Unfortunately I have to work that weekend, I've summited An Teallach multiple times, wonderful scramble day out in the great wilderness,

"This fabled mountain is perhaps the most impressive in Britain"

https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/ullapoo ... lach.shtml

although you are two hours from Torridon, Highley recommend climbing on the Aztec tower above Gairloch.

enjoy.

Hi y'all

Just a reminder - the bothy is very basic - this is from the website:
Guests need:
· torches
· sleeping mats and bags
· cooking stoves
· cooking and eating utensils
· food

We can provide a Cook Kit with all the fundamentals if you don't have any cooking equipment with you. We charge this at £5 per day. This includes gas, pots & pan, cutlery and plates.
Guests are requested to leave all facilities as clean as they find them, cleaning materials can be found in the kitchen. Wood is available for £5 per bag and please do bring your own kindling, matches and firelighters.
I'm coming up in my van and staying on the site Thursday night so I'll be there early to 'move' into the bothy! I believe is a drying room, will check when I arrive, think we might need it....
I'm then staying on the site Sunday, Monday and on Tuesday trundling off back south.
I have no plans currently apart from reading by the fire and maybe a soggy low level walk/MTB and cafe/shop mooch around Ullapool  I hope the forecast improves!!! Everyone get sun dancing....

Hi all, excited for this.

Rach and I are in Aviemore at the moment, rough plan is to stay at Lochivraon bothy tonight and hike the two munros to the east tomorrow (if the weather allows!).

Not sure about Thursday night but will aim to get to The Bothy early on Friday to meet you.

Happy with any plans for the weekend. Have climbing stuff and canoe. Anyone welcome to use. Will bring books and whisky!

Canoe is more likely to be used than the climbing stuff haha... I've brought my MTB and there is a hire place in Ullapool if anyone fancies a trundle. Found a few local trails on the bike hire website
