Langdale Meet 23rd June Weekend

Post by hburns »

It's getting pretty summery out there, which means only one thing: Mountains are calling!

Where:

https://baysbrownfarmcampsite.co.uk/ No need to book but please sign up so I can let them know the numbers. Well-behaved dogs are allowed. Chapel Stile has a small shop and pub
Pay on arrival in cash or by card.

It's £12.50 a night, Pay on arrival in cash or by card.
Please arrive before 10pm
BBQs and fires allowed off the ground
Tasty breakfast bits and cakes sold often on site
Quiet after 11pm

What

It's a great place for climbing: easy multi-pitch, hard multi-pitch, single-pitch, bouldering and sport climbing! There are also big scrambles and lovely mountain hikes to go at. Also, wild swimming and ghyll scrambles to be had if it's too hot.

Newbies

New people are welcome, if you want to climb make sure you have a harness, and a belay plate (helmet is also strongly advised) and can tie in and lead belay. Please be honest about your experience so you don't find yourself on a multi-pitch climb without the necessary experience.

Walking plans

Access, meet book and other rules

* I'm not going to tell you the access rules for every crag in Langdale, please check UKC/ BMC Rad database and ask a friendly face.
* If there's a meet book and you want to fill it in be my guest, but more importantly, make sure someone knows where you're heading for the day (I think the purpose of the meet book is safety, not Bureaucracy).
* If someone is doing something that makes you feel uncomfortable and you don't feel comfortable discussing it with them, chat with me and I'm sure we can sort it out.
* Quiet after 11 pm at the campsite a large group of us does get loud even just gassing about the day's excitement!

---------------------

Be kind to each other lovely LMCers and have fun in the hills

Would like to come to this. I love Langdale! Space in the camper for 1 other for liftage only, you'd need to bring your own tent etc. :P

I will be attending this meet if the weather is good.
If anyone wants to team up and climb some VSs get in touch.
I can offer a lift from North Leeds, I could leave at any time on the Friday or even Thursday night.
If any of this appeals, get in touch.

Cheers
